Disney huh? How many hours do you spend on instagram and TikTok? Suicide among young adults and teens is at epidemic levels NOW - especially young women and girls. What do you think is causing it? It’s not Disney btw. Social Media, it’s perfect images, it’s false reality, it’s hollow connectedness is far more salacious than Disney and has far more damaging, dangerous and far reaching implications. You’d be much more effective focusing on real life problems than dreamed up reflections on princesses and fairies.

Sickle cell anemia is a clear example of an adaptation that is distributed non-randomly across human populations. Is it just a cosmic accident that Japanese people don't suffer from it while Xhosa do? It's one thing to be wary of eugenics, it's another be to scientifically illiterate.

Great article Ogletree! I like how you step into the humanistic side of Saban and family. A show of empathy out of the sports highlights. Capturing these moments of parenting and what a child really does to the heart of a parent is a warmer side of reporting, devoid of stats and plays, providing a glimpse of your heart! If you aren't a parent now, I am sure that you will make an awesome father to some lucky boy or girl!

It's easy enough to prevent cheating on multiple choice exams. I wrote my own test questions. I used to make 4 versions of each test, each one with the same questions but each having a different starting point. No student had another student with the same exam in front of him or on either side. So there was no one to copy answers from. As far as they could tell the exams were randomly distributed. Anyone who did copy answers from a neighbor's scantron sheet would get 80% of the questions wrong.

The class after the exam we would go over them to analyze why the right answers were right and the wrong ones were wrong. I then collected all exam questions and answers. Over several decades the average scores on the exams hardly changed, and it was virtually always the case that the good students did well and the poor students, especially those with spotty attendance, did poorly.

You were doing fine until you suggest that boys should be allowed to dress up as Disney princesses. Children need adult direction, and not everything a child wants to do is good for his mental or physical well-being. A boy is going to have to be a man one day, and he will need to have developed the masculine virtues. Saying no to the princess idea is one way of telling him that not every whim he has will be satisfied. For that matter a 6-year-old girl should have very little to say about what sort of birthday party she is going to have. One of the reasons the current generation of young adults have so much need for psychological counseling in college is that their parents did not set firm but reasonable expectations for them when they were younger.

Ok, but why aren't you also promoting American Indian Heritage Month? There are cultures and races of American Indians that were literally rendered extinct. But you give them less than a full sentence in your article and you aren't spear heading any movement to acknowledge what the white man did to them. If you aren't going to recognize both, then why is it okay just to recognize BHM? I believe BHM deserves to be celebrated. But so does AIHM. No black cultures are races have been rendered extinct, that I know of. Not that that makes it better. But it definately warrants that the American Indians deserve the recognition.

I don't think our author has much experience in viewing the subject of her column. If she had I don't think she could fairly describe the majority of it as violent by any means.

Likewise, it's all entirely voluntary. I wonder how our author squares her feminist views with a call for the end of an industry plenty of women enjoy being involved in. Are they too stupid to know what they want to do? Are they not smart enough to make that call for themselves? According to our author that would seem to be the case.

Or is it really that our author is someone that enjoys telling people what they should do and think? Not a single study anywhere was cited in the piece, and that's odd if one is attempting to paint a massive industry as inherently toxic to all who come in contact with it. It's curious that we don't have serious widespread sexual issues as a society given how much porn is actually consumed.

It's almost as though people understand that movies (even with naked people) are entertainment and not reality and act accordingly.

Seriously? 11 other months to celebrate themselves? No. Just no. Maybe you should stop being so arrogant. That statement implies blacks are excluded from the other 11 and that’s false. The oppression the black people faced isn’t neglected, it’s shoved down everyone’s throats. Just because your ancestors were oppressed doesn’t give you the right to oppress white people now. Black people have more privileges based on the color of their skin than white people. While being a racist black person is called “black empowerment” and celebrated, being a white proud to be white is called racist. Racial equality is not excluding and putting down white people.

This post is completely ridiculous. Every month is NOT white history month. You never felt the harshness of racism because you’re white? Well I’m white and I have. I see it every. What’s worse, it’s that people are celebrating and being praised for being racist against white people. People talk about “white privilege”. What about black privilege? Black people get scholarships to schools and grants based on the color of their skin. There’s an organization focused on the advancement and empowerment of black people (NAACP) which is honored for its work. There are black only fraternities, tv networks focused on black people (bet, bet her and others). Black people get jobs the a white person is more qualified for because if not they pull the race card. They have black history month dedicated solely to them. Much of which is twisted and misrepresented to paint them in an honorable light. The world today is focused on bashing white people and putting them down. It’s not that black people are excluded from history in the other months, they don’t need their own special month. Or at least if them and the other minorities have their own month white people should have one too. Giving blacks, Hispanics, and other races special treatment while putting down white people is NOT racial equality. White people dont have special grants just for white people because it’s called racist. White people cant exclude blacks from fraternities because it’s called racism. White pride is considered racism and condemned while black people throwing up fists and holler black power is applauded. There is no network on tv focused on white people. When a white person is arrested or shot for doing something stupid white people dont riot in the streets. Why are black people statistically arrested more? Because statistically they are the ones committing more crimes. It’s not racism. If you reach into a cop car and try to take a cops gun, you deserve to be shot, It doesn’t matter what color you are.

This person is not being racist. He's simply pointing out that targeting white people is racists. That doesn't mean what white people did in the past is wrong. I don't think there should be a white history month. But getting mad at the reason for it seems just as inherently racists as getting mad for a black history month. The more we focus on equality and respecting one another by our actions and not by our color, the close we become to not even needing this conversation.

I see what you're saying. I certainly do NOT think there is a need for a white history month. So I agree with you there. But it sounds like having a black history month is just making the problem you are stating worse. Calling black people out because of their color (whether that be a good reason or not) continues to separate them from the general public). It's healthy to identify racism in the past and to learn from it (all forms and colors of racism). I have seen that calling out black people in ways like black history month only enhances the problem of racism. America was founded on strong religious beliefs of freedom and equality. Our history shows that American abused this. We should get back to these principles and stop singling out certain racists in the process. We are all seen as equals in the eyes of God.

I would put forth, for the consideration of the public, that this has absolutely nothing to do with Miss Eilish’s talents or merit as an artist, and that the awards were given entirely due to the studio she records for pushing money and influence around on her behalf.
LOL. This is such a wrong opinion it isn't even funny. Maybe the person that wrote this article should do some research before they make wrong assumptions since she recorded her album in her brother's bedroom. They have done several interviews about it.
